The Port of Los Angeles is running 24 hours a day!
The US Port of Los Angeles announced on the 13th the adoption of a24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week operating schedule. This practice has already been adopted by the Port of Long Beach, California, in September this year (the two ports account for around 40% of all import containers in the US).
According to the analysis!
Reasons for the slowdown in port operations include rebounding consumer demand in the US, an outdated freight rail system and insufficient numbers of dock workers and truck drivers.
These problems have also sent freight costs soaring. Soaring transportation costs have also spurred price escalation, which ultimately affects the American consumer.
