March 31,2022

It is also known as Rongalite /Rungulate /Sodium bisulfoxylate formaldehyde/sodium hydroxymethane sulfinate, the traditional process of formalin combined with sodium bisulphite and then reduced to produce the chemical name of sodium formaldehyde sulphoxylate, the molecular formula is NaHS02-CH20-2H20.  White block or crystalline powder, easily soluble in water.

The new one step production method uses sodium

metabisulphite as raw material and is completed in one step by the reduction of zinc powder and the addition of formaldehyde.

It is stable at room temperature, but has strong reducing properties at high temperature and has bleaching effect. It decomposes when exposed to acid, and its aqueous solution begins to decompose above 60℃, and decomposes at 120℃ to produce toxic gases such as formaldehyde, sulphur dioxide and hydrogen sulphide.

It is a strong carcinogenic substance that is extremely damaging to the lungs, liver and kidneys of the human body and can kill the average person by oral ingestion of 10 grams of pure dandelion.
